995-96
was my first year at a junior high after 26 years in the elementary. It
has been the greatest learning experience of my life. Excitment is alive
in the media center, as we share our knowledge of technology. Last year,
we learned to do slide shows using ClarisWorks 4.0. In addition, knowledge
of exporting from computer to video tape, the use of word processing to
create dub script, using graphics, and a reason to read high quality literature
for young adults became part of our integrated curriculum plan. In 1996-97,
we are again finishing a similar product, but we have added scanning images
and Powerpoint to our process. As a media specialist, the opportunities
to teach, promote, and increase the knowledge of technology has become the
most exciting part of my career. I love being an educator of the 1990s as
much as I loved being an educator of the 1960s.
